

Ian Fleming wrote the novel for his son Caspar but did not live to see it published before he died in August 1964. Just like Ian Fleming's novels aimed at grown ups, this adventure story features heroes, villains and gadgets but here the main protagonist is a magical car. It may surprise you that the author best known as the creator of James Bond, also wrote the much loved children's book Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang. The original edition was illustrated by renowned artist John Burningham as only his second commission. The Deluxe Edition with specially designed bindings is limited to 50 sets (600 GBP/each) and comes in a grey slipcase accompanied by a portfolio of two prints signed and numbered by John Burningham.

The Standard Edition comes in a racing green slipcase and is limited to 100 sets (125 GBP/each). A facsimile of the first edition of Ian Fleming’s famous children’s story, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, is re-published by Queen Anne Press as three separate adventures as it was in 19 when first published by Jonathan Cape.
